Your u3a Committee are relentlessly thinking of the succession of members of the Committee so the high standard of what we do can not only be maintained but improved.
Any Committee, of any organisation, needs a constant input of new approaches and ideas lest it becomes stale.
To respond to this, we propose to establish a ‘shadow’ committee, whereby a member of the u3a learns a little of a particular role who later may or may not wish to elevate themselves to replace the actual role holder when they step down. Constitutionally, an individual can only hold a particular Committee role for 3 years so a continual flow of willing folk is essential.
